Substitute Musicians Needed
As a working band, the Westwind Swing Band occasionally needs substitute musicians. Becoming a substitute may eventually lead to permanent membership if an opening occurs. We are a fun, established 18 piece big band with vocalist and have a large following. We play original arrangements popularized by Artie Shaw, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, etc. rehearsals are on Thursday evenings at Hopkins North Jr. High band room. We play about 20 gigs annually, including a regular monthly gig at Wabasha Street Caves, weddings, swing dances, community parks, wineries, etc. Click here to see our scheduled performances.
Jazz experience and improvisation ability is a big plus, but being a team player is equally important!
