Inspired by Dirty Dancing: The Musical at the Ordway, this elegant evening combines swing dancing, live big band music, professional performances, and the timeless beauty of the historic Promenade Ballroom.
The evening begins with a complimentary swing dance lesson by The Dancers Studio from 6:30–7:00 PM. Designed for all experience levels, the lesson welcomes beginners and seasoned dancers alike—no partner necessary.
From 7:00–9:00 PM, enjoy live music by the acclaimed Westwind Swing Band, a traditional 17-piece big band performing the swing-era favorites that will keep the dance floor full all evening long.

Join us in the historic Promenade Ballroom for a night of big band favorites, festive costumes, and unforgettable memories beneath the chandeliers.
For one night only, the historic Promenade Ballroom transforms into an enchanting Halloween ballroom where crystal chandeliers, spooky décor, and the electrifying sounds of a live 17-piece big band create one of the most unique Halloween events in Downtown St. Paul.
Whether you’re arriving in full costume or simply looking for an unforgettable night out, Spooky Swing Night welcomes dancers of every experience level. The evening begins with a complimentary swing dance lesson led by Dancers Studio, making it easy for beginners to join the fun before the dance floor comes alive.
From 7:00–9:00 PM, dance the night away to the timeless sounds of the Westwind Swing Band, whose high-energy performance will fill the ballroom with classic swing favorites and Halloween spirit.
Show off your creativity during our Halloween Costume Contest, compete for prizes, and enjoy cocktails from the cash bar.

Fun Note: The Wabasha Street Caves are the only remaining restored Gangster Era site in Saint Paul. They offer historic tours of extensive caves carved into the hillside in long abandoned mining ventures in 1800's. Later, the caves were used as a mushroom farm, and then developed as a Restaurant Casino and Gangsters' Hotspot during the 1930's prohibition era. Newspapers reported an unsolved gangland murder at the casino. Tour guides point out the bullet holes. Some believe the caves are haunted by the murdered mobsters whose bodies were never found... We are an 17-piece big band available for your listening and dancing pleasure! We perform at a variety of venues from wineries, swing dances, weddings and other private events to city parks and senior centers. You can hear us play regularly at the Wabasha Street Caves Swing Dancing Night from 7 - 10 PM on the first Thursday of every month.
Typical venues that work well for us are ballrooms, banquet and concert halls, city park band shells, community centers, party rooms, wineries, breweries, retirement communities, and senior residences.
We are becoming a Twin Cities wedding band of note with several recent bookings and we are already booking into next year! Call now to check availability and reserve your date!
