Step back into the Roaring Twenties and into a night of glamour, music, and movement at Dancing Under the Chandeliers: The Great Gatsby Swing—an unforgettable evening set in the opulent Promenade Ballroom at The Saint Paul Hotel. This signature event celebrates the hotel’s 116th anniversary, honoring its rich history with a night inspired by the sparkle and sophistication of the Jazz Age.
Beneath glittering chandeliers and surrounded by timeless architecture, guests are invited to experience the energy and romance of a classic Gatsby-era soirée—where swing music fills the ballroom and style reigns supreme.

• 6:30–7:00 PM – Swing Dance Lesson with Dancers Studio (all levels welcome)
• 7:00–9:00 PM – Live Swing Dancing with the 17-piece Westwind Swing Band
Live Music & Dancing
The evening comes alive with the bold, brassy sound of the Westwind Swing Band, a full 17-piece ensemble delivering authentic big-band rhythms that defined the era. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or stepping onto the floor for the first time, the night is designed for pure enjoyment.
Begin with a complimentary swing dance lesson led by Dancers Studio, perfect for beginners and a fun refresher for experienced dancers.
Dress to Dazzle
Gatsby glamour is highly encouraged. Channel the spirit of the 1920s with:

We've had a banner year for performances to the extent that we hit our limit in June and August.
Our calendar for upcoming performances is filling up but we can’t wait to play for you at your event!

Fun Note: The Wabasha Street Caves are the only remaining restored Gangster Era site in Saint Paul. They offer historic tours of extensive caves carved into the hillside in long abandoned mining ventures in 1800's. Later, the caves were used as a mushroom farm, and then developed as a Restaurant Casino and Gangsters' Hotspot during the 1930's prohibition era. Newspapers reported an unsolved gangland murder at the casino. Tour guides point out the bullet holes. Some believe the caves are haunted by the murdered mobsters whose bodies were never found... We are an 17-piece big band available for your listening and dancing pleasure! We perform at a variety of venues from wineries, swing dances, weddings and other private events to city parks and senior centers. You can hear us play regularly at the Wabasha Street Caves Swing Dancing Night from 7 - 10 PM on the first Thursday of every month.
Typical venues that work well for us are ballrooms, banquet and concert halls, city park band shells, community centers, party rooms, wineries, breweries, retirement communities, and senior residences.
We are becoming a Twin Cities wedding band of note with several recent bookings and we are already booking into next year! Call now to check availability and reserve your date!
